Fall may be my favorite season...
The snap of a crisp local apple matched by the crunch of orange & magenta leaves underfoot; a bowl of earthy, succulent butternut squash soup warms me like a cozy wool scarf; and of course, the bounty of friends, family and fixin's at our table, as we celebrate and give thanks for another wonderful year.

Exploring Cunningham Citrus
I first visited George and Gayle Cunningham’s groves in the early winter of 2002-03. It was just after Christmas, and the remoteness of their place in De Luz Canyon was remarkable, considering that we were less than two hours away from more than 20 million people.
I left Erin and the boys asleep at our Carlsbad Hotel and journeyed for about one hour –the last ten miles in De Luz Canyon—until I reached an oasis of citrus trees near the top of the canyon.
