Item Highlights
Red Chard
This large, beautiful, and nutritious green can be a wonderful staple in your meals. Chard is related to beetroot and spinach so the green is quite versatile. The flavor is earthy and slightly bitter. This is a wonderful plant to grow in your garden as they grow from early spring to late fall and can be quite easy to care for! You can cook down or use raw in lots of dishes such as soups, pizza, salad or stir-fry! The leaf and stems are both completely edible. Swiss Chard is noted to have the most “diverse nutritional health benefits” compared to other greens.
Valserena Parmigiano Reggiano
The oldest Parmigiano Reggiano dairy in Parma and one of only four members of the Consorzio di Sola Bruna (Brown Cow Consortium). Valserena is a 5th generation producer operated today by Giovanni Serra and his sister Antoinetta – who is a veterinarian and knows each cow by name. Valserena is one of the last farmstead producers of this PDO cheese, meaning they grow the feed, raise the animals, and make these cheese all at their farm.
Moses Reaper
Moses Reaper is a Jasper Hill Creamery original, inspired by classic, French Brie. Usually “Moses Sleeper” this version is dyed with annato, and covered in vegetable ash to match the spooky air of the season. This cheese’s historic namesake, Moses Sleeper, and his compatriot, Constant Bliss, were Revolutionary War scouts killed while defending a blockhouse along the Northeast Kingdom’s legendary Bayley Hazen Military Road. Moses is an approachable and nuanced soft-ripened cheese. Beneath its thin, bloomy rind lies a gooey, milky core showing a complex array of flavors at peak ripeness: cauliflower, crème fraîche, and toasted nuts. A bright, clean finish with a hint of white mushroom aroma follows the rich flavors of the paste.
Dark Muscovada Sugar
Muscovado is a dark unrefined sugar from Mauritius, East Africa. It’s rich and moist, retaining most of the natural sugar cane flavor. Muscovado is not just any brown sugar, brown sugar is white sugar with molasses added back in. In the cooking process of this sugar, the molasses is never removed. This is the most unrefined sugar you can get! Muscovado has a toffee-like flavor that would be a great addition to your morning coffee or your holiday treats
