Item Highlights

Easter Egg Radish

Radishes are native to Asia and are believed by experts to have been growing wild in regions of China and Central Asia. Before the 16th century, most radish varieties were large, tough, and elongated. As demand for smaller radishes increased in Europe, breeders developed compact, circular radish varieties for everyday use, including globe-type radishes. In the late 20th century, seed packets were developed to have a mix of colored radishes, creating what is now known as Easter Egg radishes.
Easter Egg radishes are a source of vitamin C to strengthen the immune system while reducing inflammation, potassium to balance fluid levels within the body, and calcium to protect bones and teeth. The roots also provide fiber to regulate the digestive tract, iron to develop the protein hemoglobin for oxygen transport through the bloodstream, and contain other nutrients, including vitamin E, magnesium, & B vitamins.
Easter Egg radishes are known for their colorful nature and crisp, snap-like consistency and have a mild and peppery flavor with earthy and sweet undertones. Easter Egg radishes generally have a mild, peppery flavor suited for fresh and cooked preparations. The roots should be washed and can be consumed straight out of hand, or they can be sliced and layered on salted butter bread. Easter Egg radishes can also be used as colorful, edible garnish, displayed on crudité platters, tossed into salads or shredded into slaws.

Schnebelhorn

Made by cheesemaker Reto Güntensperger, named after the region’s highest mountain peak, Schnebelhorn stands out for its elaborate textural and flavor characteristics. Aged 10 months, the cheese develops a pronounced level of Alpine cheese spiciness, balanced by tremendous butter & cream. Its texture is creamy but slightly gritty. Perfect with tart berry jam or melting for fondue.

Bent River

Named after the sharp turn of the Minnesota just a few hundred yards from the original production site of Alemar Cheese. Over the next seven weeks or so, the cheese will ripen to full maturity. During that time, the texture and flavor profile will change, but at all stages you’ll have a Camembert that will rival the best around.

Initially, there will be a layered “button” of unripened cheese in the center. As the cheese ages, the button will ripen and you’ll have a smooth paste throughout. The ideal time to eat depends on your preference: as the weeks go by, the flavor profile will change with a mushroom-like aroma and taste leading the way. A slight press of your thumb in the top-center of the cheese will tell you a lot: at full ripeness, the indent will not recover.

Blanxart Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts

It was in April of 1954 when the master chocolatier, Francesc Agrás, embarked on a long journey through the best patisseries and confectioneries in Europe. His passion for excellence in artisan confectionery was the seed that led to the founding of one of the most renowned catalan chocolate factories: Bombons Blanxart. This evolved into one of the best artisanal chocolate companies whilst still maintaining single-origin bean to bar chocolate. Milk chocolate and whole hazelnuts. This specialty is made with 33% cocoa and 24% whole hazelnuts of the Negreta variety, typical of the Tarragona region. This delicious chocolate follows the recipe of the first master chocolatier Blanxart, presented in the traditional 200g mold. Blanxart creates chocolates following the Bean to bar process, Blanxart controls the entire process: from the selection of cocoa in small plantations, the artisan roasting over low heat in our facilities, to the packaging of the chocolate bar.
