Item Highlights
Purple Baby Broccoli
Purple baby broccoli is a tender, eye-catching vegetable that brings both color and flavor to your plate. A cross between regular broccoli and Chinese kale, it has slender stalks, small florets, and a vibrant purple hue that deepens when cooked. Its flavor is nutty and peppery with a subtle sweetness. It’s less bitter than regular broccoli, with a delicate texture that’s best preserved with quick cooking methods like sautéing, roasting, or steaming. You can eat the whole thing, stems and all, and its beautiful color makes it a standout in salads, stir-fries, and grain bowls. It’s packed with fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants.
Buche de Lucay
For over 60 years, family-run French dairy Fromagerie P.Jacquin & Fils has been making traditional goat’s milk cheeses, beautifully exemplifying the style that the southern Tours region is famous for. Bûche de Lucay is a soft-ripened goat milk cheese, shaped like a small log and covered in a delicate, natural rind. Fresh, salted curds are covered with Penicillium Candidum and ripened in humid rooms to encourage the molds to form a velvety white coat. It has a creamy, dense interior that becomes more spreadable and flavorful as it matures. The taste is rich and creamy with the classic goat milk tang. It’s a beautiful addition to any cheese plate; try it served with blueberry jam, a drizzle of honey, and a Sauvignon Blanc.Â
Withersbrook Blue
Withersbrook Blue is a raw milk blue cheese washed in Eden Ice Cider, made with milk from Jasper Hill’s own herd in Greensboro, Vermont. Named after a winding brook that runs through their pastures and sugarbush, this cheese is rooted in place and full of character. It spends 60 days aging in Jasper Hill’s Cellars, developing natural blue veining and a balanced, earthy richness. After aging, the cheese is sealed with a generous pour of Eden Ice Cider, a dessert cider made by freezing and thawing local apple juice to concentrate its sugars. The result is a sweet, tangy infusion that brings out the cheese’s bright, creamy notes while adding a hint of fruit and acidity. An LHF staff favorite, incredibly inventive, and a deeply Vermont expression of blue cheese, you won’t want to overlook this one. It’s so good that it just earned second place in the 2025 American Cheese Society Judging & Competition!
